A.G.M. in brief
BY PAUL CLEMENTS:

The church AGM took place after the morning service and also after a very nice lunch (thanks Jill and team). The purpose of the AGM was for the church council to share with the church how they thought 2002 had gone and what to expect in 2003, it was also an opportunity for members to ask questions

Looking back at 2002

It was an exciting year, a year of firsts. Our first week-end away together as a fellowship and what a great week-end at Hothorpe, so much so that we are going back in 2003.

Secondly we added to the staff with the appointment of Pauline as a Communications Officer and what a success that has been, again, so much so that we have re-appointed her for another year (there's a pattern forming here!!).

Also our first fete in the church which was well attended, guess what, yes you've guessed it, we're planning one for this year as well. Don't worry we are moving into new territory this year but if its good and works why not do it again.

Other firsts were carol singing at the local Safeway which was well received, Eternity giving out Christmas presents to all the houses on Wellin Lane, and of course church life continued and strengthened through the year. T

he church council recognised that some things could have be done better but life is a learning experience and on the whole the vision of "Building the community" was put into action.

Looking ahead to 2003

What can we expect? Well concentration of the church vision will still be on the community with particular emphasis on the external community and how we serve and reach out to them, ideas always welcome.

One of the exciting events that we hope to achieve in May of this year is to bring over the Pastor and his wife from the church we support in Romania and of course continue to support not only by prayer but by our hands and feet in going over to Romania this year to help as they reach out to their community, it should be an exciting May.

Also the church council announced that they were seriously considering appointing an assistant to John so please pray for guidance in this matter.

Loads of other activities will happen this year and all I can say is watch this space for announcements. The church council (and their wives) also announced that they were going to follow the AOG Journey into Mission training course as a means of exploring how better we can reach our community with the message of the cross, please pray.

John also gave an overview of the church finances!!

And we closed as promised within the hour.
