Light Factory was founded in 1992 when a group of church members ran a week-long holiday club. They decided to follow the Scripture Union "Light Factory" teaching material.

At present, Light Factory is held at the church on a Friday evening between 6.00 – 7.15pm.

We aim to provide an exciting fun packed time for 5 – 11 year olds. We tailor our teaching and the format includes talk time for the kids, Bible teaching, games, videos, singing and worship, prayer time, drinks and biscuits.

Games play an important part in our meetings, which are lively and often messy. 

A register is also maintained each meeting to fulfil fire regulations. The children are given points for attending, which can be accumulated and used to buy sweets and drink from the tuck shop.

All staff are police checked so that they can work within the church’s child protection policy. 

Building and maintaining a relationship between the church and local schools has become very important to us all in the Light Factory team. Over the last year in particular the 'Light Factory Schools Team' has conducted bumper packed 'Light Factory Special' assemblies in two of its most local schools - Edwalton Primary and Abbey Road Primary School.

Our time at the school gives us a fantastic opportunity to meet as many children and staff as possible and to give each child a first hand experience of just some of the mad and fun things that we get up to on a Friday night! While we make sure that our assemblies are always as exciting and interactive as possible, the most important thing is that they always follow a strong Christian moral or teaching.

When we finish the assembly we always try to make sure that we leave each child with a personal invitation to come along and see us at the church on a Friday evening between 6:00 and 7:15 PM.

So if your children are at either Edwalton Primary or Abbey Road Primary School you can probably expect to hear quite a lot about us after our visit to your school!
