I became a Christian in 1987 following the breakdown of my marriage.
Even though I’d attended church as a boy and sung in the choir, I hadn’t
had an ‘experience’ with God and didn’t understand what being a
Christian was all about.
When I discovered my wife was having an affair with my brother, it
was the ultimate betrayal. I could see no other way out than to take my
own life. through this experience I had a clear vision of Christ on the
cross and heard my father’s voice telling me to go back.
Fortunately I was found and as I was put into the ambulance, I said,
"God, You’ve not let me die. I’ve made a mess of my life. Can
You turn it around?"
I spent a short time in hospital and on returning to work, I met John
Hill through some insurance business. He talked with me and put me in
touch with a local church where I began to attend. Through the witness
of this church I gave my heart to Christ and was later baptised.
