Our Journey [ Vision | Values | Purpose | Beliefs ]

VISION

West Bridgford Pentecostal Church (WBPC) intends to bring this vision into being over the next five years – by the end of 2008.  Our vision builds on our purpose and we see this being fulfilled by being true to our core values and having an even balance of being both purpose-driven and spirit-led in all we do.

Divine Dwelling
To see the power of God dwelling in WBPC through the Holy Spirit, going in and out with us in everything we do for Him. Within our sights are services that are full of relevance, excitement and challenge.  We expect that sounds of rejoicing, extravagant giving and gifts of the spirit in operation will all be trademarks of our time together.

Purposeful Prayer
To see prayer and intercessions being the heart-beat of WBPC. As we live our lives in obedience to the commands of Christ, we shall ask according to the will of God and we shall see answers. Both individual and corporate prayer we see as being recognised as essential factors that keep the church afloat and heading in the right direction.

Cultivating Commitment
To see the entire congregation having the opportunity to fully understand and engage in the vision. In this way, we will encourage personal commitment to supporting all we do in order to bring glory to God.

Furthering Friendships
To see everyone being encouraged and built up through time spent together in fellowship.  We envisage regular 'get-togethers' being made a priority in order to simply enjoy one another's company. As well as meeting corporately, we see special times of fellowship being arranged for groups with shared interests. As we meet together we see spirits being lifted and characters strengthened.

Growing Groups
To see everyone having the opportunity to become a member of a small group that models biblical community; a safe place where we accept one another and are accepted, love and are loved, shepherd and are shepherded, encourage and are encouraged, forgive and are forgiven and serve and are served.  Amongst other things, we picture the small group member experiencing levels of acceptance and accountability that they would not be able to receive when the whole body is together.

Developing Disciples
To see everyone at WBPC having the opportunity to develop their Christ like character by providing a series of classes such as ‘the laying of foundations for the new believer’, and ‘releasing people into their ministry’. We anticipate that a strategic plan of sound teaching and preaching will also be in place to inspire us to personal growth

Moulding Ministries
To see every believer equipped to discover the divine design God has predestined for them. With on-going support and encouragement we envisage both individuals and teams operating effectively in their ministry.

Community Connections
To see various care projects being set up to reach all kinds of people of all different ages within our circle of accountability. We will be active and creative in our reaching and meeting the needs of those around us. It is expected that our love for Christ will be the evident driving force behind everything that we do. As a result, we anticipate that WBPC will have a strong presence in the community and that people will have a greater awareness in terms of what we do and believe as a church.

Mobilising Missions
To see everyone informed about people and projects WBPC has a mission heart for. We envisage the whole body being conscious of God’s desire for us to fulfill the great commission; sharing the Gospel “to the ends of the earth" – this will happen by seeing people involved in prayer, practical and financial giving, short term mission trips and informative fellowship fundraising events.

Effective Evangelism
To see a number of evangelistic ministries in place at WBPC, each giving an alternative approach in order to reach different types of people. To compliment this, we see individuals being equipped to share their faith so that they can make use of all personal evangelism opportunities that arise with family, friends or colleagues. As a result of our endeavours, we envisage reaching every man, woman and child within our circle of accountability in the anticipation that many who are facing a Christless eternity will accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

Appreciating Allies
To see WBPC partnering with other local churches, recognising the strengths of other parts of God's church and working effectively with them in order to further His kingdom in our locality.  We also picture ourselves supporting other churches through the giving of our expertise, time and money.  Where appropriate, we desire to see every new believer given an unbiased choice of local churches to attend where they can be effectively nurtured and grow in character.

Future Facilities
To see our facilities developed to meet the needs of our growing church. We see a spiritual home that is both warm and inviting. It is a place where our various ministries are adequately accommodated so that they can function effectively and continue to bear fruit.
